🔬 The Core Mechanism of Sensing
Sensing is the process by which a device detects and measures a physical, chemical, or biological quantity in its environment and converts that measurement into a usable signal, typically an electrical or optical one, for processing by an electronic system. It is the fundamental mechanism that gives machines the ability to perceive and interact with the physical world.
Signal Conditioning: The often-weak electrical output is amplified, filtered to remove noise, and usually converted from Analog (continuous signal) to Digital (discrete data) using an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC).
